NOTE: All Games are played on Saturdays!
After the Winter 2017 elimination series garnered rave reviews, RSAK will once again feature a winter kickball season.! We will be cramming more than a whole season of kickball games into less than 2 months by playing a 2 game guarantee tournament EACH SATURDAY, so THERE IS LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE FOR THE WINTER SESSION. Consequently, all teams will register under the same session and each week the results of the previous weeks tournaments will dictate the seedings and matchups for the tournaments. Registration is capped at 12 teams (up from 8), so week one Don't worry, if you are a LITE league team, you probably won't get stuck playing against the Classic I champions in the middle 2 Saturday tourneys, but "divisions" won't exist as such (more on that later). As of right now, ALL GAMES WILL BE PLAYED ON SATURDAYS (This is subject to change due to field availability, but we have no reason to believe there will be an issue) NOTE: We reserve the right to move your team up or down a division to ensure fair play and a fun atmosphere for all kickballers. NOTE: THE WINTER SEASON IS SHORT BY NECESSITY. EACH TEAM IS GUARANTEED 8 SCHEDULED GAMES, BUT AS ALWAYS IT IS POSSIBLE THAT WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY ALL RAINED OUT GAMES, WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO RESCHEDULE, BUT NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED DUE TO GAMES CANCELLED BEYOND OUR CONTROL.
What is the Winter Survivor Series?
On the first Saturday of the Series, we will have a 12 team tournament with the 6 teams that lose their first game getting a consolation game to determine seeding for the second Saturday. On the second and third Saturdays there will be an upper, middle, and lower 4 team tournament, with some teams moving between brackets each week. This will assure that teams have a chance to earn points towards the final standings each week, even if they have a bad first outing. Teams can even go from being the lowest seed starting out in week 2 to winning the upper tournament the fourth week in theory. There should be fluidity in who plays who, and where teams are ranked throughout the Series, and we think this novel approach to kickball will be a fun way for teams to test their mettle. This exciting kickball format was a huge hit in 2017, and the addition of a third bracket should make it even better!
