NOTE: All Games are played on Saturdays!
After the Winter 2017 elimination series garnered rave reviews and continued success in 2018, RSAK will once again feature a winter kickball season! The winter format allows for whole season of kickball games to be played in just 1 month! By guaranteeing at least 2 games per Saturday, teams will reach 8 games minimum in just 4 Saturdays. Tournament style games are played EACH SATURDAY so it is possible on weeks 1 & 4 that teams could get more games. Please Note: THERE IS LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE FOR THE WINTER SESSION so register early to reserve your teams spot. All teams will register under the same session and each week the results of the previous weeks tournaments will dictate the seeding and matchups for future games. Don't worry, if you are a LITE league, Classic 2, Classic 1, or Classic+ team when signing up. The format levels the scheduling after week one to ensure fair and balanced matchups each week. Registration is capped at 12 teams (up from 8). As of right now, ALL GAMES WILL BE PLAYED ON SATURDAYS (This is subject to change due to field availability and as always weather. NOTE: THE WINTER SEASON IS SHORT BY NECESSITY. EACH TEAM IS GUARANTEED 8 SCHEDULED GAMES, BUT AS ALWAYS IT IS POSSIBLE THAT WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY ALL RAINED OUT GAMES, WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO RESCHEDULE, BUT NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED DUE TO GAMES CANCELLED BEYOND OUR CONTROL.
What is the Winter Survivor Series?
On the first Saturday of the Series, we will have a 4, 8 or 12 team tournament with the 6 teams that lose their first game getting a consolation game to determine seeding for the second Saturday. On the second and third Saturdays there will be an upper, possibly a middle, and lower 4 team tournament, with some teams moving between brackets each week. This will assure that teams have a chance to earn points towards the final standings each week, even if they have a bad first outing. Teams can even go from being the lowest seed starting out in week 2 to winning the upper tournament the fourth week in theory. There should be fluidity in who plays who, and where teams are ranked throughout the Series, and we think this novel approach to kickball will be a fun way for teams to test their mettle. This exciting kickball format was a huge hit in 2017/18, and we hope you enjoy it all the same in 2018.
